William B. Raines, Jr. CCIM, CRX, CSM, RPA

WILLIAM B. RAINES, JR., CCIM, CRX, CSM, RPA – President, Chief Executive Officer and founder of The Raines Group Mr. Raines has over 45 years of shopping center and office management and leasing experience together with home owners associations. With Cousins Properties he was the Nashville District Manager for Hickory Hollow Mall, Rivergate Mall, The Mall at Green Hills, Lions Head Village and two other retail centers. These properties represented over 2.5 million square feet of retail space. Mr. Raines has also supervised the leasing and management of 3 million square feet of Power Centers throughout the Southeast.

Mr. Raines has a Tennessee and Georgia Real Estate Broker License. For three years he held the position of the Tennessee State Director for the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and has been a member of the CSM Committee for ICSC. He has been certified as a Real Property Administrator (RPA) with Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International, and a Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) and Certified Real Estate Executive (CRX) from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He previously was employed by CBL & Associates of Chattanooga.

He is a 1968 graduate from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, served in Vietnam and was activated for Desert Storm and is an Army War College graduate. He retired in the Spring of 2000 from the Army Reserves as a Major General. The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and The Small Business Council honored Mr. Raines by voting him a finalist for the Small Business Person of the Year. He has served as President of the Chattanooga Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) and has been recognized as the Manager of the Year. He was the President of the CCIM Chattanooga Chapter and serves on the Board of the Chattanooga Trade and Convention Center.

In 2008, General Raines served as the Chairman of the Chattanooga Area Veteran’s Council and then served as Chairman of the Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center during its formation, design, construction, funding, and Grand Opening in February 2020. He is currently its Chairman Emeritus.
